Darren has been involved in the marine industry since 1992 holding various management roles at the dealer level and within the Marine lending sector. His tenure with the marine industry lenders provided an excellent opportunity to serve both manufacturers and dealer relationships throughout North America, gaining an excellent understanding of both retail consumer lending and our industry’s supply chain. Having been with Galati Yacht Sales since January 2004, Darren launched our business office operations with developing new processes and procedures for closing transactions and provide a true advantage to our consumer with very competitive Finance & Insurance products. These programs remain available today including retail financing, extended service coverage, marine documentation and insurance. Today Darren supports many roles for Galati Yacht Sales including General Manager, while also participating on our Senior Management team with an appointment on our Board of Directors.

In 1983, he started his career in boat manufacturing with Century Boats, Endeavor Yachts and Brunswick. He started with hands on building and moved up to Quality Assurance Manager and ultimately Plant manager with Century. Kerry made the jump to sales in 1995 with Galati Yacht Sales and has specialized in the Cruising style of yachts and enjoys leading the Rendezvous throughout the year. “My goal is to help match the customer with the yacht that best fits their needs and budget” “ Creating lasting relationships and friendships with my customers is the most satisfying part of my job” says Kerry. Susan was a novice in 2007, but weathered 10’ seas rounding Great Stirrup in the Berrys & a 27 hr run to the Dry Tortugas, yet she is still an avid boatwoman!

3. Active Boating: Joe, Susan and Baci, a Teddy Bear Schnoodle presently own a 36’ Monk Trawler with over 16,000 miles of cruising aboard “Set Free”. Joe has cruised in his own trawlers including: A CT42 Trawler from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas Mexico; an Albin 27 Trawler from Annapolis Maryland to Block Island and up the Hudson River to Canada; a Grand Banks 42 down the ICW and throughout the Bahamas and across the Gulf of Mexico. This means the client gets real cruising insights regarding a variety of trawlers.

4. Couples Cruising Experience: Susan began cruising in 2007 with Joe. She had never been on a trawler, nor had she been on the open seas. Joe took Susan on short trips from St. Pete to Sarasota. Then they visited the Annapolis Boat Show and met Captain Patty of Sea Sense. [Sea Sense is a week long, women only boating course, which Susan completed in 2008.] Then Joe and Susan cruised across the Gulf of Mexico to the Dry Tortugas! Finally, 2009 was a 3 month cruise through the Bahamas including: The Exumas, Eleuthera, & the Abacos. So often, the wife has great reservations about cruising. Susan has faced all the challenges and flourished. This is not theory, but first hand! We can help spouses and partners overcome their reservations.

5. Kids & Cruising Experience: Joe, as a child, cruised from Lake Champlain to Block Island to the Chesapeake AND was able to take his own children to those same places and more! This means the clients and their families have extensive experience working for them.
